I'm 14 so it could possibly related to my hormones and i do tend to quite haughty and supercillious at times but i manage to retain a decent composure!.!.!.!.
Could it be because all the girls i know are ignorant, pompous pre-maddonas into gossip and make-up and cex!?

Give it time, they might grow up (probably not though)!. If the only girls you know are ignorant and care only about their appearance you have got to meet some new girls because all of them aren't like that (I'm not)!. A lot of guys do go through this, and I agree--girls at that age are actually pretty worthless in terms of serious relationships with guys!.
