Question: Does Classical music impact Popular music today!?
I am doing a paper on the benefits of music education, and one of my supporting points was going to be how it impacts popular music today!. Yes it does!. Here are some examples of DIRECT influence from this very decade:

Graduation (Friends Forever) by Vitamin C (Canon in D influenced)

I Can by Nas (Fur Elise influenced)

No One by Alicia Keys was also influenced by Canon!. The chords, rythmic and melodic phrasing mimics it greatly!.

Grace Kelly by Mika is taken from Largo al factotum (it's from the Barber of Seville opera)
