yeah i do it was cool to go to the shop with 10pence and come back with a 10pence mix-up which usually had chocolate mice, cola bottles, fruit salad, black jacks, flying saucers, sour cola bottles, gummy bears and others i can't think of!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

but anyhow sweets (we call them lollies) are not the same as when you where a kid are they!?
regardless of the cost they are smaller, more boring and way too expensive

I remember getting four pieces of banana taffy for a penny
in late 1958 and then it was 20 full size candy bars for a Dollar like mars bars, payday, snickers, Thrre musketeers,
rocky roads, mounds,big hunks,thosand dollar bars,nestle crunch,reeses cupslook bars!.heath bar,peppermint patties,
chunky bars,hersheys with or without, nougats,butterfingers,
nutter butters, almond joys, nut cluster chews bar,
we had a llot of bars and sticks to choose from
Id even get a bag old brown paper sack of taffies 100
for a dollar or cinnamon suckers they weresquares of red hot cinnamon on sticks of white paper like tootsie rolls where
too hard candy over toosie roll chocolate taffy!.
lastly we had pixie sticks and jolly rancher hard candies
a penny a piece We had a mom and pops store that sold
a short variety of foods and house stuffs they had a large
candy section next to the door at the floor level which made good access for hands tograb we would get a dime or
a half dollar on holidays and we would spend a hour picking out th largest amount to share to last the longest it never did
last pas t the afternoon but a dollar in 1960 was like
having a ten dollar bill free to spend!. It bought twenty full sized candy bar fr a nickle a peice!. 20 for a dollar!.
or 100 pices of hard candy ot taffy or jolly ranchers
or peppermints or jjaw breakers or sweethearts
or licorice red vines or black 100 per dollar
or the bin candys like brachs by the ppound!. I remember it 50
cents a pound for mixed brachs I liked the carmel rolls
with butter vanilla or the coconut layers carmels chews
and the orange fruit wedges and fruit gummy wedges
in individuals they had one thing I loved waa the lemon balls
and cherry balls they were sour sweets by brachs
sold in bulk bins!. then during christmas they would sell
hard candies in ribbons called ribbon candy in a tin
it was under a dollar a tin and every christmas filled every
candy dish in moms house!.
Kids dont have candy dishes like we had!. our grandmas
decorated with candies and petit fuers cakes covered in cocolate in layers!. twenty tiny layers chocolate confection
cakes covered in chocolate and fondant!. or marzipan!.
Fruit jelly candies I had many from my german and polish grandparents they even made peanut brittlles and
poured dish candy at home!.moms favorite holiday cakes
were minilayers hand made petit fluer cakes with
Irish creme and lime fondant or lemon fondant and marchmellow creme or chocolate creme minicakes
like the figis catalog showed premade!. my fvorite
was moms forrest logs filled in creams and marshmellow
mushrooms!. the best!.
