It's not true of every guy!. I'm more apt to ask for directions than my wife is, but then I'm cheap!. I can't see wasting all that fuel, especially nowadays with gas costing more with every fill up!.
To answer your question though, most guys avoid asking directions because it is seen as unmanly!. Personally, I don't get it!. Asking directions saves time and gas and allows you to spend more time when you get to where you're trying to go!.

Sometimes guys may be a little hesitant to ask directions, but pride is not the only reason!. Some times the challange to finds ones own way can be very consuming, a guy can actually be intrigued by it!. also i personally find that i only remember the direction to a place i've never been if i make my own way!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It's amazing how much stuff you can see when you're lost!. For example, you can find some really beautiful nature in the boonies by accident if you get lost that you never would have found if you asked for directions!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

There's something to be said for doing things yourself!. There's the whole adventure angle!.!.!. why ask directions when we may be able to get there through unexpected adventures!? Then again, it may just be stupid male pride!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
