Question: What Do You Love or Remember about the 1960's !?
I remember growing up in Georgia and Louisiana and being around my family!. I remember relatives who picked melons and cotton while plowing their fields with mules!. We drew water from wells and some of my relatives had outhouses! Yes we were a little backwards!. (smiling) I also remember racial tensions were bad for many and I was lucky to have parents who taught me to respect all people regardless of who or what they were!. I remember seeing my mother and father both crying when President John F!. Kennedy and Dr!. Martin L!. King were both assasinated!. I remember as a child breaking a new bottle of vodka and seeing my grandfather who was a heavy drinker crying over that! He eventually forgave me and recovered from his drinking problem!. I remember I had a great childhood and I thank all of my relatives for that!. What do you remember about the 1960's !?

When I was 3 years old in 1964, i was going to school on my own to the 2nd grade just so I could read the books(yes I was an early learner)!. i would even read to the kids in class and in return they would play with me at recess and later take me to my Aunt's house where i could play with my cousin Fred!. my Mom never worried as i wasn't crossing any streets by myself and she knew where i was atif she couldn't find me as my Aunt would call or the school would!.
Ironically ,I flunked Kindergarten because they said i started to young!. That went over like a a piece of fish stuck on a BBQ grill with no foil under it! My Aunt raised me then and the other teachers(including the 2nd grade teacher who i used to visit) lambasted that teacher so bad she had no choice but to pass me!.(plus i had straight A's)Www@Enter-QA@Com

I also love that you lived in Louisiana!. I lived there for a year or so, it's where my son was born!. Metairie, Louisiana, a whiskey's breath away from Bourbon Street, we used to say!. (Of course that was in 1999)Www@Enter-QA@Com
