Answers:
i definantly would have said i was one of His followers!. i just don't know how far i woulda carried it!. you know, if i would literally tell everyone that i was a follower and volunteer to be crucifed with Him, or if i would just stand by and only volunteer information to those who asked!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

At the time of Jesus's crucifixion, His followers would not have been put to death!.!.!. that would come later!. And it was prophesied that His followers would be scattered!.

Had I been there at the time of the crucifixion, I would think that I would have been one of the women who watched from afar as a witness!.!.!. and later as a witness to the resurrected Christ!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I sure would like to think so!. I get in trouble sometimes for speaking up for what is right, I would hope I would have the courage to stand up for Jesus!. Not many did back then, especially on the day of His crucifixion!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

of course i would have!. i really think i would have, i mean its easy to say it, but i really don't care what wouldve happend to me prob!. for Jesus, i'd always sacrafice!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Well, your question is fundamentally flawed in at least a few ways!.

First, christians weren't being persecuted at the time of Jesus!. There were only a few of them, certainly not worth the attention of even local Roman authorities!. Later, as the christian population grew significant, Roman caesars would take exception to their refusal to worship other gods and would persecute them!. This didn't happen before around 80 CE, iirc!. Domitian was the first to persecute christians, I believe - decades after Jesus died!. Just being a christian wasn't a death sentence then, and it wasn't a death sentence most of the time in most of the empire, despite what your preacher would have you believe!.

Second, Jesus was put to death for his crime!. No one else was killed for his crime - just him!. He was charged with blasphemy, no one else!. Walking around saying you supported the blasphemer wouldn't necessarily make you popular, but it wouldn't be a death sentence!.

Third, if you were a follower of Jesus, and you bothered to actually listen to him, you would know that the divine plan is for him to die, to raise again, and then go off to come back again and save everyone!. So you would actually be busy rejoicing and praising!. At least, that's the modern take on doctrine - it was different back then, but that's probably beyond the scope of this answer!. Suffice to say that a christian of the first century would not recognize many of the beliefs of a christian of the twenty first century - perhaps one reason why everyone was mopy and mourning instead of rejoicing!.

!.!.!.

So I would be a pretty cheerful person if I was there when Jesus died and someone asked me if I was his follower!. I'd be sad to see him go, but happy to see him leave, if you take my meaning!. No shame there! He's a-coming back! That kinda thing!.

Of course, I'm not a christian, I don't think that Jesus ever existed in the way he is commonly depicted in biblical canon, and after spending well over a decade of my life researching christianity, I can safely say that I have come to my philosophical beliefs and lack of spiritual beliefs (I am an atheist, after all, a freethinking humanist to be precise) because I have not found convincing evidence of the supernatural, of a supernatural deity, of a supernatural deity who created everything, of a supernatural deity who created everything and looks like us, etc!. Just finding contemporary evidence of Jesus that isn't a fraud or a lie would be great!. (Josephus was interpolation, that coffin thing was a hoax, no contemporary historian within his lifetime talks about him or his miracles, etc)

Well, whatever!. Don't tell me what to believe, and you're okay in my book!. In the meantime, I'd suggest that you actually study the beginnings of your faith!. It's nice to have emotional hyperbole about how you'd've "token" a stand for Jesus and all, but I think an informed faith is a stronger one!.
