It sounds like you and your wife need to take a trip to the library!. First you have to consider if you can meet the needs of a donkey!. I don't know what they are, do you!? So check it out!. What costs are involved!? Where should you keep it!? What kind of exercise does it require!? Food!? Health Care!? Do you live in an environment which would be healthy for it!?
At 4 mos of age you aren't getting the pet for your son who could care less & is too young anyway!. Sounds to me like you just think its cool & you really want it for yourself!. Whatever!. Research it just as you should any other pet!.
A dog would be a pet your child could better relate to; if you ever decide to get a breed read into the breed's characterists & needs before bringing one home!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
