Survey -While in the pool my daughter referred to herself as a merkitten, should!

Question: Survey -While in the pool my daughter referred to herself as a merkitten, should I be concerned!?
Answers:
NO! I think that is the sweetest thing!

Aww, I think I will teach mine that!. she loves kitty cats!Www@Enter-QA@Com

No, when I went to the pool I called myself things like that almost every time, I even called myself a merkitten once (right after we visited the merlion on a class field trip)!. This continued up until I was 12 or so, though I never believed it I would stubbornly insist that I did to anyone that asked!. However I am now a perfectly well adjusted honor student, with plenty of friends so it didn't hurt me any!. If anything you should encourage her imagination (because everyone knows swimming is more fun as a merkitten)!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Are you kidding, that is so cute and inventive!

She has taken the words mermaid and mermen and used 'mer' obviously linking it to water (mer is the word for sea in French) and attached it to the word kitten (which perhaps she wishes she was) and created the word 'merkitten'! I would praise her for her creativity and unless you know she really likes cats/kittens, ask her how she got the word!.

Creativity should be applauded!Www@Enter-QA@Com

lol it sounds like she mixed mermaid with kitten!. she the mer+kitten, it just sounds like she likes cats and since she was at the pool she decided to mix being a mermaid with being a kitten!. No worries, shes just being a cute little girl!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

NO!!! well if she is older than 10 or so then yes but if she is young then she is probably a cat lover and since mermaids swim, she is pretending to be a mermaid/kitten a merkitten!!!!! i adore it but if she was 16 then take her to a doctor for the love of God!!!!!!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Depends on how old your daughter is!?

If she is 16, then something is definantly wrong!.

If she is young, then she might just like mermaids and kittens!.

What's wrong with mermaids and kittens!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

I don't think it's that big of a deal, unless she was doing something else along with it that might be inappropriate!. To me though, it seems like she's just playing around!. She kitties and she was swimming just like a mermaid!. Put two and two together and you get a merkitten!Www@Enter-QA@Com

ok, if she is octopus, yes! but if she is a kitten then it is normal! if she is a human, well that depends on age, under 14 is ok but over well start to ask her some questions! =P hey also we, us kids love pretending, i am 11 and i just today played with my friend and her 7 year old sis, she was a dolphin/mermaid/pony!!(me and my buddies were whales!!!! yay whales!) take this advice from some one who is still a kid so i have her point of view still intact with my mind and life!!!- i am not quite sure if what i just said is correct grammar or not, but i do not care!! PEACE MY HOME SKILLA BISKET!!!!! =)Www@Enter-QA@Com

I really don't see why you would be!. When I was little my friends and I used to pretend that we were mermaids!. That's like asking if you should be concerned if she plays house and refers to her self as "the mommy"!. Its call an imagination!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yes, have her committed immediately!.
JUST KIDDING!. That's absolutely priceless!. Little kids are a RIOT!!!

Here, have a star for your little 'merkitten'!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

As a natural parent-yes!.
But, she's young and I'm sure it is a phase!.
I use to refer myself as the Mysterious Rainbow Power Ranger and Sandy D!. [Grease!.]Www@Enter-QA@Com

It sounds like she has a great imagination!.!.!.!.which is a sign of intelligence and creativity!. No need to be concerned!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

what is a merkitten!? Im guessing it like a mermaid, but half kitten rather than human!. if shes just joking around, theres nothing to worry about!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

If you really think you should worry then you really need to get an imagination or remember what it was like to be a child!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

No, she's probably just pretending, when I was younger, me and my best friend used to pretend we were mermaids like Ariel from "The Little Mermaid" :]Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think you're safe!. If you're daughter is under the age of twelve, you're good, but if shes!.!.!.!.say!.!.!.!.!.23!? She needs some help!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

no! when i was younger, when me and my little friends would go to the pool, we would always pretend we were mermaids or animals!. dont worry!. shes just being a kid!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

lol, it is better to be called a merkitten, then a beaverWww@Enter-QA@Com

OH how cute! How old is she!? I have my little sister and she always acts like a little kitten!. Dont worry she is just a little kid!. Things like this always happenWww@Enter-QA@Com

Nope, don't be worried!. i've wanted a merkitten myself!. I might have to settle for adoption though!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

If she's just a kid then that's really cute and even if she is a little older she might just be acting weird!.!.!. teenagers do stuff like thatWww@Enter-QA@Com

lol, yes, cats are verry dangerous and I heard mermaids eat people so yes I would be concernedWww@Enter-QA@Com

Well, if she's younger (like not pre-teen) then she just means that she is a mermaid cat!.!.!.!. aw!. Two of a girl's favorite things!
That is unbelievably cute!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Nah, merkittens are awesome!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Innocent comment from an innocent childWww@Enter-QA@Com

probably not!.!.
it sounds like that means a
mermaid-cat
since you were in the pool - it makes sense!.
:]Www@Enter-QA@Com

Like mother!.!.!. like daughter!.!.!.!.!.

<giggle>Www@Enter-QA@Com

Proably not she waz probably jus kiddinWww@Enter-QA@Com

"merkitten" someone is going to snatch that name up for their handle pretty fast!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Unless the way she said it had some sort of sexual thing going on, then no!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

No!. Now if she had said she was a promiscuous porpoise, worry!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
