My next-door neighbours are moving?!

Question: My next-door neighbours are moving!?
unfortunately it's the ones we get on with rather than the ones we don't!
At present we don't have a high fence between us, infact we have an adjoining gate as we get on so well we are constantly in and out each other's house!.
The question is, do we go ahead and put up a high fence before the new neighbours move in or do we wait and see if we'll get on with them!?
If we do it now and we get on with them it will be uneccesary!. If we don't do it and we don't get on with them how's that going to look to them!?
Advice please!!!Www@Enter-QA@Com

I'd wait and see if you get on first, an high fence when they move in might give the wrong impression, as in your not very friendly or approachable!.
We're in the process of putting up high fences, we've been here 3yrs now and have learnt that the neighbours are ignorant, arrogant sh*ts, putting it politely!.
At our old house we have a small fence with a gate in, but we got on with our neighbour, definatly not at this house!Www@Enter-QA@Com

I would say to the new neighbours as part of a conversation when you meet them that you have got to put the fence up but have not had a chance yet and leave it at that!.

If you like them there will be no need to mention it again if you don't they will think no more of it than something that was already planed!. It is important to get it into an early conversation but not overstate it!.

It could easily be dropped into a conversation if you ask them if they have much to do in their new houseWww@Enter-QA@Com

I would go ahead and put up that 6ft fence now, before the new neighbours move in!. As I look at it this way!.
If you do get on well with them, there is always the front door, when you go visiting, and if you leave putting the fence up until they are in, they may not like it, and could cause you all sorts of aggro! Good luck!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Who's responsiblity is it to put the fence up anyway!? Generally speaking if the boundary line is to the right of your property it will be your responsibility!. If not then it is your new neighbours so why not wait and see this way you will save yourself a great deal of money!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Just wait and see!. If you get new neighbors that you do not like, and then you install the fence, they will get the message!. If not, then you don't have to worry about wasting the money on the fence because you have neighbors to get along with!Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think you should wait and see, for the very reason you said, if they are nice then you don't need to do anything!.

If they are horrible, it doesn't really matter what they think!. If they do ask, just say you've meaning to do up the garden for months now :-)Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yes I think you should put up a very high fence!. Now is the time to do it before your new neighbours move in!. Better safe then sorry and if you do get on well with them I am sure the fence won't stop you being friends, you can still visit each other!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I'd go with the high fence now!. My neighbours say things are okay then when we put up our new fence and gate, the wife ranted that it imposed on her garden!.

Our other neighbours put up a fence just before we moved in to make sure!

Good luck, we seem to live parallel lives, I hope you're looking after my husband!! xWww@Enter-QA@Com

Well they already know you have no high fence from
when they viewed the property!.If you put one up then you create a division before you even meet them!.Sounds like your neighbours you don't get on
with can read you better than your moving ones could!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I personally would put it up now, before they move in, if you find that you all get on then you can remove it, if you do it after they have moved in that well may cause more friction between you!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

leave it for now, if you don't get on with the new neighbours what do you care what they think to you putting up a bigger fence you'll already not like each other

gl :-)Www@Enter-QA@Com

Id say leave the fence as it is and give them a chance!. you could become great friends!. if thats not the case, leave it a month or so then get the fence changed!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I'd get a high fence, gun turrets, lasers, alarms and a search light!. Better to be safe than sorry!. Oh and don't forget the hounds!Www@Enter-QA@Com

I am someone who keeps myself to myself and doesnt get involved with neighbours, so I would say put the fence up now and protect your privacyWww@Enter-QA@Com

My advice is to put the fence up now, before the new neighbours arrive

Won't cause any animosity and gives you more privacy in your garden when you're sunbathing :)Www@Enter-QA@Com

put a fence up before your new neighbors move in that way you wont upset them you can all ways put a gate in later if you get on well with themWww@Enter-QA@Com

If you have the money & the ability, build the fence!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I got a high fence all around - if you do get on they can just use the front door!. I'd rather be safe than sorry :-)Www@Enter-QA@Com

I'd wait and see!. They might be lovely people!. You don't want to go to all that expense if it's not necessary!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Forget the fence, just eat more beansWww@Enter-QA@Com

I'd put up a high fence now!. Perhaps later you could take it down again if your new neighbours are okay!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
