I lost over 40 pounds in 5 months from 197 to 156!.

DIET:
Watch your total daily intake of calories - Around 1,800 is best!.

If you workout, get your carbs naturally, sweet potaatoes are the best workout carb you can put in your body!. No wight gain and the carb energy you need to firm up and build and maintain muscle!.

Red meat limited to once a week!. Get your meat from tuna, fish or chicken mostly!.

Twice a week have beans of some sort -- if you mix them with rice, it makes a perfect comlete protien necessary to maintain good balance in your diet!.

Cut down on the butters and sweets!. If you must, eat your sweets by themselves on an empty stomach and don't eat anything different for at least 30 minutes afterward!.

EXERCISE:
Run (if you can, or start by walking) at least 4 miles a week, increase to 12 miles a week!. Sprint the last mile when you can!. The increase in heart rate for that last mile will do you more good than the first three!. (Check with a physician if you have any other health related problems or are seriously overweight!.)

I personally made joining a health club my reward instead of my plan!. I figured that I wanted to look good before I joined and so I watched Fit TV every morning and did the workouts for free until I was in good enough shape to feel worthy of a membership at the health club!. Once I achieved that goal, I joined!. When I walked in, the personell all thought that I had a previous membership somewhere else (because of my fit look)!. It was awesome!. Later I bought a Home Gym and I use it every other day to build muscle (quite noticable) and maintain good health and fitness!.

I still eat sweets but I go by the rule:
To earn it, I first must burn it!
I enjoy them and they don't add one ounce to my waistline, which is now a ripping 29" like when I was in Highschool (was up to 34")!.
