Question: Pencil #2!?
okay you guys know the #2 pencil!. i mean you gotta use it for like awesome stuff right!? ISTEP, writing stuff down, drawling, and writing stuff down!. but like everyone uses it!. so it's like #1!

but why is it still #2!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
Because the number one pencil resides on his throne in the kingdom of Pencilton and does nothing at all, because his life's work has been completed and he can rest at last!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I use #1 pencils!. They make a blacker line!.

Pencil 'lead' is a mixture of graphite and clay!. The higher the graphite content, the lower the number and the softer and blacker the line!. The higher the clay content, the higher the number and the 'harder' the pencil and the lighter the line!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I actually prefer the #3!.

It's the thickness and density of the lead that gives it the # rating!. The #3 and #4 are thicker/darker, or is it the #1 that is!?

Funny and accurate observation you have! lolWww@Enter-QA@Com

The number 2 refers to the hardness of the lead!. You use a number 2 for standardized testing because that's what the computer that scores the test picks up!. Number 1 is too light and number 3 is too dark!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

#2 is a darker graphite than a #1 which is used mostly for drafting and carpentry!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
