I was told that it stems from then people from the east came out west and didn't have a hat like the other cowboys, only hats popular back east, so by the end of the work day the back of their necks were sunburned red!. Redneck was the same as being called "New Guy" but it has evolved away from the original meaning!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
So what really makes someone a redneck anyway!?
It's all subjective!.
Some people think anyone who hunts must be a redneck!. Some people figure you're a redneck if you listen to country music!.!.
But they didn't really start teasing me about being a redneck until I also started following NASCAR in 2005!. And that was really just a fluke that had nothing to do with hunting or country music!Www@Enter-QA@Com
