The answer is either, depending on what you want to do!.
I use Macintoshes for everything, but not all software runs on them!. If you're a gamer, I would stay away from Apple notebooks unless you can spend the money on the MacBook Pro!.
As far as Dell goes, experience has shown me that they make a stable desktop computer, but a lousy portable one!. I'd go with Toshiba, HP, or Lenovo if you must have a Windows notebook!.
also, remember that the MacBook will run Windows XP by installing it on a separate drive partition and dual-booting, or by purchasing Parallels and running bother OSX and XP simultaneously (although using Parallels will be considerably slower)!.
Honestly, your question can only be answered by what you are using the computer for!. I've sold computers for 15 years, and most folks just use them for running MS Office and surfing the web!. If that's the case, anything will do!.
Macs don't come with Office installed, and most Windows machines don't either!. The home and student version of Office 2008 for Mac is now $149!.95!.
I would only advise you to only go with Windows if you need to do !.vbs scripting in Excel, but chances are high that you don't and won't!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
