Yeah, because everyone stopped spanking their kids! This produced a bunch of spoiled little brats with no respect if ya ask me!. I have two sons and I whoop them when they deserve it!. I got whooped when I was little and I turned out great!Www@Enter-QA@Com
I think children are less inclined to listen to parents who are unfair or abusive since kids now have the right to their dignity in a way that they were simply not allowed in the past-but I think children will always respond obediently & respectfully to parents who are fair, kind, respectable, loving & disciplinary without the use of physical punishment!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
where I live, the kids run the streets, during school hours, alot of them didn't go to school half the time!.

Over time things change, and there are so many ways children can get into dangerous things!. Drugs and Porn are availible to any kid that goes to high school!. Parents are buying there kids cars when they are 16 years old and spoling them, then kids who didn't get cars for their parents will hate them and say that they are ruining their lives!.!. More cars availible means more partys and more drugs and more messed up kids who become nothing when they grow up!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Oh yeah!!.!.!. I think parents are more relaxed about things!. I'm 20 and I've never been in trouble, I think I was grounded maybe twice in my life!. But my mom and uncles and aunts were always telling stories about them getting in trouble and having to go outside to pick there own branch and get spanked with it!. Today parents are so affraid to spank there children in fear of getting arrested for child abuse!. I think laws are tighter for children (which is good for those parents that actually abuse there children) preventing any "punishment" I think a good spanking is need, but not go overboard!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I'm only 24 but even when I was a kid I knew to respect my parents and other adults, and if I didn't I would get punished or spanked or something!.

Yes, Some parents think that if they punish their kid or say something that the kid does not like that the kid will call the cops!. I think we should go back to the day of "Go get a switch out of the yard and if it is not big enough you get beat again"!Www@Enter-QA@Com
I think it is entirely based on the parenting styles used!.!.!. if you let a child walk all over you, they won't listen, or even have any respect for you!.

Because people have kids at a young age and think kids will raise themselves!. Once the kid gets old enough to think for itself, they start to think why they should listen to a poor excuse for a parent!?Www@Enter-QA@Com
no i dont think our generation have been more rebellious or less as you know we didnt make the idea of sneaking out its tradition and we didnt come up with idea of not listening to our parents its always been around though sadly our generation has started a new generation at a lot younger age its pathetic

It depends on how you've been brought up, im 15 and ive been brought up with respect, some people dont!. But its been like that for most generations, so i dont see how this one should be different, my grandparents and other older members of the family always go on about how "its not like it used to be"
but nowadays we have more freewill, so we can make our own mistakes and learn from them, i'd rather have supportive parents who let me go my own way, than really uptight parents who smack me when im wrong
I cant stand it when people are really proud of smacking their children, you can do so much more with words than with the back of your hand!.
