Question: Can a songwriter be famous!?
I want to be a songwriter, but I'm worried that if one of my songs were to become a hit (and I'm only 14) the media would be amazed and I would become really popular and stuff like that!. With fame comes hatred!. It would suck, so am I in for something that may end up with me becoming famous!? It's kind of worrying me!.!.!.!. Since I'm only 14, the media could become amazed on how I wrote a smash hit at this age!. I always get annoyed on how celebrities make millions of dollars doing nothing and I don't want people thinking that about me!.

It depends!. If you're writing for other people, your name might get well known, but you'd still have almost total anonymity!. I've never seen a tabloid story about a songwriter!. The most well known pop songwriters I can think of are Guy Chambers and that lady who wrote I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing (Her name escapes me at the moment!.) I couldn't even tell you what either of them looks like!. Heck, I can only think of one of their names!
Even if you're preforming it yourself, you're still not going to do too badly!. The press are more fond of talentless pop tarts like Britney Spears and Paris Hilton!. You don't really see them following Alicia Keys or Natasha Bedingfield around!.
I don't want to sound too negative, but I wouldn't get your hopes up on becoming a protege!. I've been a songwriter since I was 11 and without being big headed, I know I'm good, but I've gotten a hell of a lot better since I was 14 and I'm improving all the time!. You need time to develop your skills!.
