I remember it very well!. Back in the mid-80's I used to listen to the North Sea radio station Laser 558 (anyone else remember it!?!), and this was most definitely on their playlist!. Every flaming day this one came on!

"We belong to the sound of the words we've both fallen under" = God's word and their own marital vows!.
* I don't believe that the word is only "thunder"!. I think when they laid the tracks, sometimes she was singing "father" and one word was superimposed over the other!. That's why the word doesn't sound strictly like "thunder" I have no proof of this though!.
