Question: I just got off the phone with!.!.!.!?
a worker in PAC SUN!. I called and our convo!. went a lil something like this:
Me: Hello, I submitted an application last week, and I am really interested in working with you guys!. I’m calling to check on the status of my application!.
Woker: Oh, well I actually have somebody who is calling back for the group interviews right now, What's your name!?
Me: I told him!.
It has been almost half-an hour and I never got an answer/phone call back!.
Does this mean I'm not going to get it!?!? I am 16 who tried like 15 places and didn't book an interview yet!! I have no experience, but how are u supposed to have experience when no one wants to hire u!?!? /=

I would suggest being proactive and dropping by in person!. It gives the management the idea that you are motivated and personable!. I heard that 2008 has been the most difficult year for teenagers to find summer jobs!. Plus, unless you're 18, have cash handling experience and are able to work later and longer hours, retail mall jobs are almost impossible to get!. I highly suggest trying grocery stores, movie theaters and fast food chains, they aren't the most glamorous but they do hire more quickly!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
wait a while, if they dont call you call again tomorrow!. and explain what happened, dont sound defensive when you call however!. it doesnt matter that you dont have experience, employers like pac sun and other places will generally hire you if you are interested and persistant!. this might mean you go in and ask to speak to the manager of the store and personally check they have your application because that puts them on the spot!. good luckWww@Enter-QA@Com
Hey, you did what you could and just wait it out!. No one can say for sure that you won't get it, you still have a shot!. I live in MICHIGAN, the NO 1 unemployment capital of the world and I am a first grade teacher!. I have been teaching 9 years!.!.!.!.!.I am going to get laid off this year in OCTOBER!. I start the year off with my class and then I leave them!. So after 9 years I have no job secuity!. ENJOY your youth and relax things will be ok for you!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I think that it probably doesn't mean that NO you don't have the job!. Chances are that they are just taking a little while to get back with you if they were talking to the person responsible for hiring and that could take a little bit!. But if you live in an area where people could have a bad reputation based on your name or something you did in your past then who knows!. I wish you luck!!Www@Enter-QA@Com

it's really hard for a 16 yr!.old to get a job!. I sympathize with you there!. What you could do in a situation like yours, is just be honest and tell them that you have no prior experience, but would like to work for their co!. for your first job!. I don't know what it means, but you could always call back and say you had been on the phone (phone someone first, so you aren't lying) and thought they might have tried to call while you were on the phone!. Then, ask them again about the interviews!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Go back in person dressed for success and ask if they have looked at your application and if so what they thought of it or if you could talk to the personal manager to see what you needed to work on for future success in getting a job in their company!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

You do have the right to call back!. Wait for awhile longer and then before the end of the day call back and ask if the person doing the interviewing got a chance to look at your application!. It doesn't hurt to call and check!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Just because you haven't gotten the call yet does not mean you will not!. I think calling back, as you did, is good!. Shows your interest!. Keep putting in apps!. Job market is bad, as you know!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Start out in the food industry of some type!. You will find it easier to get started here!. These jobs have a high turnaround rate!. After you work there for a little while than you'll be good to go!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
