well, depending on which way they are approaching you and what they are being mean about!. Either way, if people are being rude and mean then you'll probably be feeling some sort of negative emotion towards it!. (understandably so!) If it's in an email, walk away from it!. Don't answer it right away!. It's best not to answer when you're angry!. If it's face to face or on the phone when you're forced to deal with the situation as it's happening I suggest always thinking before you respond!. Getting loud and angry back is not going to solve anything!. Try to talk things out!. But if the other person is being angry and mean you can suggest that you both stop for now, and talk about it when things weren't so heated!. If you are dealing with rude or mean people over the phone, such as customers you can always say "excuse me but there is no need to raise your voice!. If this continues I am going to hang up the phone!." Trust me, doing tech support over the phone for 6 years, I've had to say that a few times!. Hope this helps!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Firstly if they are the type of person that is very attention seeking and thrives off of drama then either smile politely and walk away or yawn and walk away -- this gets people soooo angry!.
Secoundly if they say something that really upsets you find their weakspot - what they are most self consious about (everyone is self consious about something) and then use that against them!. Especially If it is infront of loads of people!.
Thirdly there is always the way you can make someone feel dumb and inferior by saying something like "Oh my god are you still rambling on" !.!.!. or !.!.!.!.!. "Your voice is irratating me now"
Lastly there is always the sarcastic comment which I sometimes use!.!.!.!.
Trust me all these things work just decide which one you think is right for the situation and remember ALWAYS speak with confidence and even if you are not sure with what you are saying say it confidently and clearly coz if you act as if you know what you are doing everyone will think you do!.

Silence is definitely the best answer for a fool!. If that person is being rude, the best course of action is to ignore!. I feel that this is important to do so u don't lose ur integrity and look just like that person, which is classless!. If the person wants to take advantage of ur silence by proceeding further, done take it as a blow to your pride, but just calmly get up and leave!. I do not rude ppl, so I usually try not to let it bother me, second, try not to take it personally, and third confront if need be!.
Usually it has nothing to do with the one they take it out on !.

Instead of being rude and mean to the same person, be very respectful and kind to them!. No matter how they treat you!. Pretend that their lack of respect or manners doesn't bother you at all!.

This is my specialty!.!.!.!.I don't let people treat me with disrespect!. I tell them like it is and respond back with the same tone and put them in their place!. I don't let people push me around!.!.!.!.and that usually shocks them enough where they will never be rude to me again!. Since I work part time as a bartender!.!.!.at times I have a difficult time biting my tongue!.

Confront them!. If you let it go they will continue to walk all of you!. I do try to keep in mind that we dont always know what kind of tough situations that people have going on!.!.!.so I try to be understanding but I wont put up with someone being rude without me saying something!.

You don't because arguing back just shows them that they're getting to you and that you're no better then them!. Just being the bigger person will show them they can't mess with you and eventually they'll get bored!. If it gets worse just tell a teacher and let them handle it!. Being nice!. LOL I had this boss that thought I was a pain in the *** from the day he met me!. (I was the youngest employee) He blamed every little problem on me Even when I wasn't there!!!
It was immensely fun for me to be nice to this guy, say hi help him out etc!. He would get so mad! He never was able to get rid of me!. Because he had no leg to stand on everyone around us knew that I am a nice person and he is just a jerk!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It really all depends upon the situation!. I am not a rude/mean person, but not at all naive!. Most people need to put into there place but it needs to be done tactfully and done to where you are not stooping to their level!. Most rude people are ignorant and have no clue!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
