Why all of a sudden is everyone acting as if George Carlin was a hero or legend?!

Question: Why all of a sudden is everyone acting as if George Carlin was a hero or legend!?
The guy was just a dirty old man!. Over the past 10 years he started to fade out of the publics eye!.
Now that he is dead people are acting as if he was a god of comedy!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Who's George Carlin and have i missed somethingWww@Enter-QA@Com

He was a good comedian, he wasnt the best he wasnt the greatest but he ws good at what he did!. He wasnt always and old man you know, and he was quite popular back in the day!. People are remembering him for what he was a celebrity!. He died, which is sad but no one said he was the God of anything s far as I knowWww@Enter-QA@Com

He changed how comedy is looked at!.!.!.he was banded by clubs in the late 50's & 60's for saying it like it is!. He was wiser than your average person with a lighting fast wit and a political insight beyond the average persons understanding He's a Comedic Icon !.!.!.and thanks for the forum in which to set a narrow mind in it's place!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

If you didn't get it, fine!. But if you support free speech advocates, and comedy that doesn't condescend, you have to respect him!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Just like John Bonham, Hendrix, Monroe, Cobain, et!. al!. it is trendy to idolize dead celebrities, even though in reality they were not that great!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

he was one of the first to swear!
also he was the first ever host of SNL
he was the narrator for Thomas the Train
and his euphemisms are brilliant!

Disrespect the dead!.!.cool!.!.!.You better hope Karma doesnt work against you
I liked him and he was relevant!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

George Carlin has been in the public's eye and you just didn't notice!. Not only has he been doing standup, he also voiced a character named Filmore in the movie "Cars" and did a voice on "Thomas the Tank Engine!." Plus he was in movies like "Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back" and "Dogma"

He was a legend!. Get your facts straight! Just because you didn't care for his humor doesn't mean that you should be an indecent human and disrespect him!.

EDIT: Dude, "Cars" was 2 years ago!. "Jay and Silent Bob" was 2001!. "Dogma" was nine years ago!. I don't know who taught you your math skills, but they failed you!Www@Enter-QA@Com
