That's a different point for everyone!.!.!.!.I would sacrifice a lot if the animal was relatively young and had a good chance of recovering, fully!.

I have never been faced with a decision like that but I am also the one who refuses to take the pets to the vet!.!.!.it's my husbands job because I would probably try to sell the house or the weekend car for my cats or dog!.!.!.!.
if your pet won't get better or won't have much of a life after the surgery I guess that is where the cutoff would be but, If it were me I would still have it done !.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I hope it never gets to that point!. I walk my dog everyday, usually twice a day (sometimes more) to keep him healthy and strong!. My wife shows him alot of love, too, and pets him regularly!. My dog loves to lick her face!.
It would take a whole fack of alot to have me get to that "cutoff" point!. My dog is my life, my identity!. I can't imagine my life without my dog!. He's just so happy!.

This is funny, I was talking to somebody about this last night!. My friend was telling me her friend had to put her dog to sleep because treatment for the dog's sickness (cancer) was going to cost $30,0000!.

Make sure you understand WHAT and WHAT NOT the surgery will fix!. I'll give a good example!. MY cat got hit by a car!. Animal Emergency gave me a ball park surgery price of about $1800!.00 (including the anesthesia)!. The actual surgeon prices were much higher!. I spent the better part of $6000!.00 to have this cat reassembled!. 24 hours after I got it home it passed away due to complications!. He died in my arms!. Had was missing 1/2 of his lower jaw and tongue!. Before the surgery, had I known this, I wouldn't have made him suffer through the surgery or recovery!.

We had to put two dogs down a couple years ago because they attacked some of our neighbor's cows!. And no one ever would have thought they would do something like that, they were the sweetest dogs!. No, they weren't pits, either!. It was either put them down or go to court!. It was really sad!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
When the dog is in pain and uncomfortable!. Repeated surgeries and strong pain meds are not improving the pets quality of life!.
