Can people make up a fake ebay account to outbid people but not pay,- just for f!

Question: Can people make up a fake ebay account to outbid people but not pay,- just for fun!?
ok,, i sell on ebay, im new at it still
last night i sold an item at $26,, the person who won the bid was on zero percent, no feedback given or received as the date he joined was coincidentally yesterdays date too!
i thought it was weird that a new ebayer would place their first bid on something that price of $26,, i thought that was quite high as i expected less than that
his id name was weird as its ''gg banger 123''
anf his address was pretty strange too
i put in a 2nd chance offere to the person below his bid as i reckon hes a faker

could someone join up ebay as a fake!?,, dosent ebay need legit info before letting u sign up like bank info ect ect!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yep, you can but you will eventually get busted!. It's called shill-bidding!. My fiance & I are ebay sellers, and when we first got into it, we had accounts removed for doing that!. People usually only do that to their own auctions though, the point is to get your final winning amount higher!.

You have to enter credit card info, but its very easy for most of the scammers to steal one, or people to use a second card to bid on their own stuff!. Most ebay scammers will want to pay you by cashier's check, anyways!.

He is probably a scammer, that is their usual M!.O!. I have dealt with tons of them since 2003 and especially be leery if its in Malaysia or a Southeast Asian country (don't know why but 70% of the scammers I've encountered are from there!.)
But if you're not sure, just wait to see if they pay and don't ship your item right away!. We had one guy that kept paying for a 300 dollar item, and the balance would be taken back the very next day!. He did that about 4 times before Ebay got light of it and suspended his account!. After that we always wait and see if the funds get taken back from Paypal after payment, then file an Unpaid Item to get the listing fees back!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It seems strange why someone would bother doing that!. I would have veered on the side of caution and treated him as legit!. If he was serious in wanting your item, then he could now leave you negative feedback for selling your item to someone else when he was the highest bidder!.
I have never had that happen, I hope it turns out well for you!Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think you need to enter legitimate credit card information before they let you bid!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

No!. I hate people that do that!. He'll probly get deleted (hopefully)Www@Enter-QA@Com

yes they can!.!. just last week somebody did that to me!.!. and they won!. so you just click Report Unpaid Item!.!. havent heard anythin yet!. but good luck!Www@Enter-QA@Com
