ok in world war 2 there were many people who hid jew's that would possibly be killed and defiantly mistreated
they "lied" to nazzi officer's and such in order to protect them
now this is lying for good right!? the world agrees as far as majority opinion and what's popular to say
so!. then there's other example's of lying to avoid harm being done to someone!. we're talking about the severity of the harm being done!. ok!. harm is harm!. and stopping hard from happening is stopping harm from happening!. even if it means lying!.

Dont feel weird for asking!. What your speaking about maybe called a "white lie", a little lie to protect someone or get out of something!.
Lying to protect someone can be good and can be bad, lying to protect someone as long as that person is safe!.

Most people would view this as a personal, philosophical issue!. A standard question to ask to determine if any behavior is bad or good is "what is the intent of the action and what is the result" or "is the greater good served"!? So in your example, it was indeed good to lie to save human lives!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
