Well, the legal working age is about 14!. However, I think it would be helpful for a thirteen-year-old to work!. It will help you expierence the working process, plus, you get your own money!. Working at 13 also gives you a sense of independance, where you know you can do some things on your own ( although, you still need everyone else around you!. )!. But when you're 13, you shouldn't work long hours!. Like maybe a few hours would be acceptable!. But, I think that, if you're willing, a thirteen-year-old should be able to be employed!. ;]Www@Enter-QA@Com

I'm a parent and have a 15 year old!. I like the fact that you want to work but in my opinion 13 is just too young!. I'd say go out have fun and be a kid because once you start working it will be almost impossible to stop!. If you are adamant that you need to work I think the best age would be 16!. Because then you have a good handle at what High School expects of you and you know if you can handle both school and work!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I believe it should be 16 years of age!. Children can always find ways of making money, but to work in actual work places, like let's say McDonald's, they should be at least 16!. By 16 years old they are mature enough to handle work!. At 13 they are still too childish no matter how you look at it!. They also need the time to do schoolwork, house chores, and just grow!. If you want a child at 13 to experience work, then give them more chores!. They have to learn as well that they must do things they won't get paid for!. also, too much money for youngsters is not a good idea!. Not saying money will make them turn evil, but you never know what they might buy!. also imagine you go into McDonald's or some other fastfood place, and everyone there is below the age of 16!. How would you feel knowing some 13 year old boy who likes to spit at his friends and make crude jokes is taking care of your food right now!? I see no problem with a 13 year old working if they are willing to!. And as long as the boss doesn't put too much on them!. I know that I was ready to start work by like 12 !.!.
