If you do a genealogy search, you'll probably find that both Patterson and McGill are family names from the 'female side' !.!.!. in the past (and even occasionally today) people will name their children with a 'last name' from the mother's side in 'honor' of that side of the family!. Don't you think it comes from both his parents last names, or maybe he came through Ellis Island when his family immigrated to this country and they changed their last name to a Protestant name but kept their real names behind that one!. A lot of people did that to get jobs and be accepted in this country back then!. A lot of Jewish people changed their names for various reasons, and polish people as well!. I lived nest to some Vietnamese people who changed their names to Mike and Walt Smith, but that's not what their mail said, Lo Lu Pong Qwoe was what the mail said!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
