Which do you think IS WORSE FOR KIDS TO SEE??!

Question: Which do you think IS WORSE FOR KIDS TO SEE!?!?
graphic sex
(not x-rated, but the kind that you would see on HBO in the middle of the night)

or!.!.!.!.!.!.

graphic violence!?!?
(such as in a SAW or Friday the 13th film)

personally, i don't either are appropriate but if i think it is easier to explain two people making love to a child rather than explaining someone getting butchered by a maniac in a hockey mask, just me)

what say you!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
The graphic violence is worse!. Kids see it and try and copy it and don't really understand the actions and then they think that violence is acceptable in day to day life!. All you have to do is look at the amount of violence that is in real life to see what the effects are!.
Graphic sex scenes are not acceptable either, but as you have said they are easier to explain!.
But at the end of the day it is down to parental responsibility to stop their kids from watching stuff like that in the first place!. I censor what my kids can or cannot see!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

graphic sex!.!.!.!.at least that is something natural that can be explained as a natural loving act between 2 people in a committed relationship--I messed up: graphic sex is the lesser of the two evils

graphic violence is the worst of the two: it causes nightmares and psychological trauma that they may or may not recover from anytime soon--and it's certainly not natural!.!.!.!.plus as egocentric as most children are, once they see something like that, they will automatically assume it's going to happen to themWww@Enter-QA@Com

Violence!. Basically because as a small child, they view the world as peaceful, harmonic!. When they view violence, well this would have a mental effect on the child!. Seeing graphic violence at a young age makes them paranoid, insecure and the self realisation that the world is dangerous!. I made the mistake at letting my nephew watch an 18 film, not very responsible I know, but he suffered!. He was scared to go to sleep and asked questions about it, what's that red stuff!? etc!.

Seeing graphic sex is all about exploration in childhood!. However, I don't think they should be viewing this at a young age, because it just isn't right for young, pre-pubescent children to see such things!. It could lead on to make them want to have sex below consented age etc!. It isn't considered mentally bad as seeing violence, because seeing sex makes the kids confused, whilst violence makes them scared!.

So I would say violence as it has more negative effects than seeing graphic sex!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Graphic sex would be harder, kids nowadays realise the graphic violence in movies is only gratuitous to sell the end product!. Explaining that the violence is only make believe would be easier because they don't hear about it on a daily basis!. But there's always the whispers behind the shelter sheds about sex, and their inquisitive minds already know the basics about where they came from!. Trying to explain that mummy and daddy didn't actually need whips, chains and whipped cream on a feather duster to help concieve them would be a nightmare!. (but my dream)Www@Enter-QA@Com

Well sex is something they are going to have to deal with sooner or later, and being informed about it will help their confidence a whole lot more!. Not to mention that sex is not a bad thing!.

Now Graphic violence and gore is hopefully something that they are NOT going to deal with!. And it really, really is a very bad thing!.

These days kids see a whole lot more than they used to, so dont worry too much about either!. But sex should be viewed before violence!. I mean, which would you rather them replicate!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

I don't believe that young children should be subjected to either at a young age!. Maybe it is just me but when they are older maybe they can comprehend more then you can explain both!. They are your children teach them when you feel they are ready and not by watching TV but by talking to them and explaining things building a repor that they do not feel shy or uncomfortable discussing violence or sex with you!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think if they are really young graphic violence is easier to explain but they probably will get nightmares!. If they see graphic sex it probably won't give them nightmares but it will confuse them more and lead to more questions and possibly experiments!. I would stick to graphic violence if I had a gun to my head and had to choose lol!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think it's worse to see violence or scary films because it stays with them whereas sex, as you say is easier to explain and also (depending on their age) is not always understood and therefore not necessarily recognised!. Plus, children pick up words that relate to sex in school anyway, so it's inevitable!. It's still good to stay clear of both though!.!.!. :)Www@Enter-QA@Com

Violence!.
im 14 and i still remember one scene of a Spooks what i seen when i was 7!. (I watched it without my parents knowing)

i hav seen sex but my parents explained what it was once i asked and they just made it seem pervectly normal!.

by the way, if anyone watched sppoks it was the scene when someone shoves the womans hand in the chip fryer, then her face!.!.!.eww freaks me out just thinking about it :(

but im ok now, and i shouldn't do harm to kids it just brings them into the real world, it has to happen at some pointWww@Enter-QA@Com

You answered you own question!. Just the thought of a child seeing someone getting butchered would wourp they minds beyond belief!. There's no way to explain that insanity!. But making love, that's natural and understandable!. It will make it easier for you later on when "THE TALK" has to happen!. ie!. Remember when you saw that scene in that movie where the two people where doing blah, blah, blah, well that's how babies are made!. Good luck! DeeWww@Enter-QA@Com

i would rather my 8 year old to see violence than sex
reason being
u can explain that violence is wrong
and they will know the truth that it is
u cant tell a child sex is wrong
by nature even at 5 years of age a child is sexually curious
in seeing sexual scenes a child can get arousal and not know how to handle it!.!.!.!.this is a fact!.!.i have read plenty of mommy books!.!.!.!.
u can talk to ur kids about sex!.!.but when they see it they want to act on it!.!.!.because it IS in our nature
even at 8 years old my daughter knows never to strike first
but if need be if someone lays a hand on her she reserves the right to rip into them!.!.!.!.so seeing violence is more acceptable to meWww@Enter-QA@Com

Violence!.

I have to agree with you on the sex part, mainly because it's real and the "sex talk" is inevitable!. Little kids would certainly be more receptive to knowing where babies come from then why that nice, pretty lady just had her intestines pulled out!.

So yeah, I agree completely with you!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

well when i was really little like in 1st-3rd grade i was pretty much allowed to watch any movie i wanted except for ones with sex!. I think its just considered more mature material though its always easier to explain love making than it is violence!. huh!. weird i never thought about it like that!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

hard to say!. i would rather my kids see something violent!. i'd rather it be awhile before they undestand the concept of sex!. i really wouldn't want them watching either!. hhm!. well i don't know the more i think about it, the harder the question gets!. but i guess i'll stick with violence!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Well, one thing is why in the world would they be up in the middle of the night watching HBO!?!? uhh havent you ever heard of Parental control!?!?

and the second thing is how many times have they heard it at school!?!? thats the way I learned just about everything!.!.!.
x/
I wouldnt let them watch that!.!.!.
:]
just my opinion!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Parents USED to protect their Children from both; there is too much vilence & sex, even in kids Games (e!.g!.--"Grand Theft Auto", many Young Kids have been exposed to this)!.!.!.!!
It's Still the Parent's job to MONITOR their Children: they need to take time from their own BUSY lives to protect their Children!.!.!.!! They Shouldn't have had Children, if they Can't raise them PROPERLY!.!.!.!!Www@Enter-QA@Com

i would say graphic violence cause alot of kids kill other cause wat they see!. sex is bad to but is like wat ever i have seen sex in ma parents movies that they give then but they dont know that it had sex and they dont care they just say omgWww@Enter-QA@Com

I agree that both are inappropriate, but graphic violence is worse!. I think that it would be more disturbing for them and may lead them to believe that violence is a normal thing!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

i also think neither are appropriate for kids to see but if they HAD to see one, i'd let them see one with !.!.!. graphic sex in it !.!.!.

violence is horrible and letting your child be involved in seeing it isn't a good idea!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I have to agree with you!. NEITHER is appropriate!.
Sex is a natural thing that, hopefully, they will experience the joy of as adults!. But graphic violence serves no good purpose at all!.!.!.!.
I would rather explain about sex!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

i think the violence is better for them to see!.

they already know what violence is!.!.!. so that makes it easier to explain!. and there is not akward talk!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Graphic violence!. Graphic sex is just sex, whereas graphic violence usually involves chainsaws and knives!. It's also easier to explain sex than it is to explain nutjobs with wood chippers!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think it's worse for them to see graphic violence!. Sex will become acceptable for them to perform as their life goes on!. Violence is considered to never be acceptable in anyone's life at anytime!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

violence is worse to see!. sex is natural & i wish i could see it more lol!. my mom freaks out when there is nudity in movies!. my dad doesnt really seem 2 care either way lol!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

graphic violence!.
out of the picks!.

but scary movies, is my all time pick!.
I am still frightened of some of the things I saw in movies when i was young!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Violence!. Because that's just not normal!. One day they will have sex I don't think censorship of sex keeps kids from engaging in it!. But that's just my opinion!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

For a kid!? In my opinion the Graphic sex!. But they're both pretty bad!. You see Violence in video games and even cartoons all the time but you don't see sex!. So avoid that!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

If forced between the 2 I would say the first!. I would much rather explain to a child why 2 people are all over each other rather than why one person would want to harm someone else!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

neither, but graphic violence can give them nightmares everyone has sex sooner or later, but very little people become serial killers :DWww@Enter-QA@Com

Sex is natural,violence is twisted!.
Violence!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

i allowed my daughter to make the decision herself and she chose neither, but bot should be allowed and spoken about, then they can make a decision about how they feel about it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
