Question: If someone has a real picture of a real person for their avatar
Do you assume that it is them!? Because I usually don't assume that!.!.!.not that I think people are lying, but I think that putting a picture of someone else on your avatar isn't necessarily saying to the world, "I am that person!." It could be saying that, but if it someone famous it could also be saying, "I am a fan of that person" or if it is someone who isn't even famous they could still be saying, "This picture is pretty"!. The same as having an avatar of a certain animal or a beach scene, or a Yahoo customized avatar is really just saying "This picture is pretty" or interesting, or cute!.!.!.or whatever!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Interesting question Pathogen!. I can never be sure if the photo that is shown is an actual photo of that person, well, unless it is a famous person, then I am intelligent enough to know that I highly doubt certain famous individuals are posting (especially if you do read some of the questions/answer that person has wrote) I do not automatically "assume" but I do assume the avatar they chose is representative of the person!.
I actually emailed someone because the photos that this person posted were beautiful and I was so curious if the photos were of her!. She was kind and said no, but it did not make me think any less of this person because I could really see why she would have used these photos because it was a form of art and beautiful!.
I did use my actual photo as an avatar!. It was basically to say "here is the person behind the thoughts"!. I think it is one thing if someone uses a "fake" photo as their avatar and then says "This is me" and really tries to portray that is an actual photo of them!. It is another thing to just post a photo of, say, a beautiful man or woman and really enjoy the art of what that photo is stating and in return that will say something about the person who chose that avatar!.
