Question: Has anyone here had to put an XBOX 360 in repair due to the "Red Ring of Death"!?
You know, the red ring around the player indicator on the front of the machine!? Well, my xbox just died on me and I was wondering if anyone here has had that problem and how easy it was to get the machine fixed!? Does Microsoft/xbox send you a new one or repair the one you had!? Do they usually send you additional free merchandise for the troubles!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yes, as a matter of fact I had to send in mine on Monday!. I popped up like a month before but went away after I reset the console, then on Monday It just wouldn't work!. The god thing about that problem is once you call 1-800-4my-xbox and tell them the '3 Red Lights' are showing up on your console, they will walk you through some troubleshooting steps and then take down all your information,(your address, phone number, console number and E- mail and they will give you a reference number)!. Then they will send you an E- mail with the the tracking number and address of the xbox repair center (somewhere in Texas)!. Then send your xbox with the reference number they gave you on the phone, along with your address and phone number!. Label those things on the xbox itself and on the outside box!. After 2 to 3 weeks they will send it back!. Oh and they will pay for the shipping and handling since the problem is widespread and is a design flaw!. If you have any other questions just call the 1-800-4my-xbox number!. Don't worry dude it happens to almost everyone who owns an Xbox!. On the bright side they give you one month of Xbox Live Gold Membership (Gold Membership let's you play with people on-line) to compensate for your trouble!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I don't own one but I know 5 different people that have had the 3 rings!. From what I know they send you a new one and you have to contact them to get the prepaid mailing label sent to you!. They were also offering a warranty for another year free!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.but no freebies as far as I knowWww@Enter-QA@Com
mine and two of my friends hav gone out!. just go to xbox's website and register ur 360 then click repair beside it!. if u have the rrod then u can get free repair!. if it just stopped working due to something other than red ring of death then it cost $100!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I've done it before, and I sent it to be fixed!. Apparently, all Xbox 360 owners got free three year extended warranty because it was happening so much!. When they sent mine, it was a new console!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
