Best is a very subjective term at the least!.
I'll cite Mikael Akerfeldt of Opeth!. First of all, he has exceptional musical compositional skills!. Despite not being learned in music theory, he has the ear and can make beautiful compositions with various chords!. Second, contrary to many metal musicians, his solos tend towards tasteful bluesy or minor scale licks rather than a shredding onslaught!. At times he reminds me of David Gilmour!. Thirdly,!.!.!. umm, he pulls off this stuff on-stage while delivering beautiful clean vocals and earth-shattering growls as well, while playing guitar!. I couldn't think of a more solid third reason!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
