Should Sperm donors pay Child Support?!
Question: Should Sperm donors pay Child Support!?
I was watching Good Morning America & they had a Woman that had her friend be her sperm donor!.
The man wasn't romantically linked to the woman, he just agreed to give his sperm to her so she could have the child she hoped for!.
They showed pictures of the man rubbing the womans stomach while she was pregnant, and being there for the child as he grew!. Apparently, the situation worked out so well for them, they decided to try the donor sperm technique again- this child was a girl!.
The donor played the father role in both children's lives and he slowly started to demand weekends & holidays- the normal rights of a father!. The woman then asked him for child support!.
The donor does not think it is fair for him to have to pay anything when technically he is a "donor"!.
They said on the show that judges can overthrow sperm donor documents stating that they remain unknown to the woman, or couple!.
What do you think about this situation!?
Do donors deserve the same rights as regular fathers!?
Should donors pay child support!?
Should confidentiality be kept or let donor information be known!?

no they shouldnt pay, but if he wants to be a part of the baby's life like that man wanted to be then yes, its only fair if he helps support the baby!. he cant just get all the joys of being a father without helping out just like the mother had to do!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

weekends & holidays= child support!. if he wants to have rights to the kids child support comes with the rights!. otherwise he's just a sperm donor and doesn't have any legal rights to the kids!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think a donor who is just a donor, preferably anonymous, who isn't involved with the baby/child in anyway and is just being a donor should not have to pay child support!. But I also think this should be drawn up on some sort of agreement!.
I think someone who claims they are just a 'donor' but then actually becomes quite involved in the pregnancy and is involved as a father figure, whether they planned it that way or not, should maybe have to pay some support!.
I don't think a person can have their cake and eat it!. You're either in for the whole thing or your totally out!.
I don't think an arranged 'donor' should have the same right as a father!. Again, I think it should all be drawn up and agreed on as well though!.
I think a donor should be kept confidential otherwise it all can become confused unnecessarily!. As in the situation you just described!.

i think this guy wants the bset of both worlds! i feel its wrong to ask an anonymous donor 4 child support as they are doing the woman a favour and play no part in the childs life and in some cases do not even know the child exists!. however, in the case u have described, the guy is playing a parental role and demanding parental rights to an extent!. he must be made 2 realise that these rights come with responsibilities including supporting his children!. thats my view anyway dear!!Www@Enter-QA@Com
