I know a lot of people don't like Elvis, but do you think...?!

Question: I know a lot of people don't like Elvis, but do you think!.!.!.!?
there's something 'Un-American' about disliking him!? (I'm emphasizing the difference beween 'not liking' and 'disliking')

I'm not a hard core Elvis fan, but I do like him!. I feel he's such an identifiable part of American pop culture, and I think there haven't been many people in recent history (and not just American history) that have been as famous as he is!.

What do you think!?

Do you think the amount of fame he had would be a burden, or a blessing!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
What is this "Un-American" crap, anyway!? What exactly does that mean!? I'm Canadian, and I dislike Elvis, so I'm un-American, I guess!.!.!.right!? Sure, he's part of pop-culture, but I don't like his singing style!. So what!. It's a personal choice, just like I don't like Miley Cyrus or Rihanna or Britney Spears or Aaron Neville!. They're a part of pop-culture too!. Stop with that un-American stuff, man!. I see it way too often these days, and it's a phrase that doesn't even truly make any sense!. Really!.!.!.I should go around saying that if you don't like Celine Dion or Alanis that you're un-Canadian!.

Just had to vent!.

Anyway, the amount of fame he had would definitely a burden!.!.!.it makes people go nuts!. Look how weird Michael Jackson started acting, from all of his fame!. Even Britney lost it and shaved her head!. I wouldn't want that amount of fame!.

PS: I'm not comparing the fame of these pop stars to Elvis, I'm just showing you why saying that "people who dislike Elvis are un-American" doesn't make sense!. Fine, let me put it this way: Are British people who dislike the Beatles un-British!? They were HUGE, and the extent of their fame is very much comparable to Elvis!. Everyone has different musical preferences!. Be more open-minded!.
And, on a side note, Y!A is worldwide, so saying that you're not asking Canadians also doesn't make sense!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

hope i answer all your questions

yes i agree that Elvis is an icon, and he does certainly respresent some kind of symbol and is easily identified as American

i suspect that people who feel that not liking Elvis is 'un-American' are probably people who really like him, big time fans

i think that much fame would be a burden for sure
i couldn't handle it
