WSS is just R&J updated, the original has to be the best as all imitations pale into insignificance compared with the writing of WS at a time when it was truly cutting edge storytelling!. We just don't get half the jokes and references etc!. as we have no experience of the times in which it was written!.

WEST SIDE STORY hands down, i just love how it comes off!.!.!.much better to understnad then romeo and juilet!.!.!. just loved west side story form the first time i watched it in 9th grade and it really helped me understand romeo and juilet a lot better!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
West side story is based on Romeo and Juliet but for me west side story is a more contemporary and easier to follow!. I don't expect a musical was on the cards for for Shakespeare!. Not a lot you could do with a loot,drums and one of those off key Pianos !. Www@Enter-QA@Com
