How do you stop your computer from running so many programs when you start up?!
Question: How do you stop your computer from running so many programs when you start up!?
I have windows XP - when I first turn on my computer it takes forever for the computer to stop loading all the programs that automatically run - I know there's a way to choose which programs run automatically I just don't remember how!. Do you know what I'm talking about and how to change it!?

Start>Run> type MSCONFIG
This utility should allow you to choose what starts automatically and what doesn't!.
also, go to icon called "my computer" right-click and choose "manage"
go to services and you can peruse all the services that start, simply change the ones you don't want to start automatically by switching from auto to manual!.
