I used to think I was a victim, but it's something you don't have to choose to be!. Let it go don't dwell on it that will make you miserable and really you don't need to go there just make your mind up to move on it's unimportant unless your would rather have it control your life!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Yup!. Both of my parents abused me growing up!. They say they didn't know how to be parents and thought it was okay to do the things they did to me!. Couple examples would be, because I refused to put a toy away when I was 7 my dad locked me out of the house and it was winter season and all I had on me was pair of socks and my pj's!. I stole his candy/gum because my parents refused to give me some so my dad slapped me!. Because I couldn't swallow pills (bad experience) when I was in Jr!. High both of my parents slapped me, kicked me, punched me and also kicked me out of there house saying, "Two year olds can swallow pills!!" And lastly, because my mom was teaching me math very poorly I didn't understand her and every time I blurted out the wrong answer is when she got frustrated with me and had slapped me and punched me until she had no energy in her!. My dad was video taping this whole incident!. Few yrs later I caught them watching the very same incident just laughing hysterically!. Now, I'm a first time mom with my 3 month old daughter that I refuse to be like my parents!. I would never abuse my 3 month old daughter the way I was physically and verbally abused when she grows up!. I didn't know how to be a mother at first, but that's no excuse abuse your own child like that!. My mom till this day does verbally abuse me with her negatively, but because I'm an adult I just walk out on her!. My mom and I aren't that close and whenever she comes and visit her grand-daughter we always tend to argue back and forth, which I told my husband that she should be banned from coming over because I don't want my daughter witnessing our arguments and because my mom calls me stupid and although my daughter is way too young to know what stupid means I still don't want her over!.
Then, there was this boy who came to my sister's 13th birthday and I was only 9 yrs old!. The party was held at my parents house so I kept walking back & forth down the hallway, which apparently annoyed this boy because he grabbed me, pushed me onto my bed, slammed my bedroom door shut behind him, he came on top of me, pinned me down against my will, started choking me as he threatened my life that he would kill me if I told my parents what happened!. Once I promised (I lied) and he let me go I ran straight to my parents who was glued to their tv screen, told them what happened, but they didn't do anything to protect me!. Must be part of their excuse saying, "Oh, we didn't know how to be parents!." Totally messed up!. I wondered if they refused to do anything if I was molested or worse raped!?" They probably would have given me the very same excuse!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yes!. In short, my father was a violent psycho!. My sisters and myself are still in therapy for depression and other issues, and we did manage to get out from the family alive and well!.!.!.!.
And I know, too many of us don't!.
But I hear you!. It's rough when you're there in it, and it stays that way a while after you get out from under it too!.
