I was told in my biology lessons, years and years ago! (l have a good memory, lol) that you yawn when there is a lack of oxygen in your lungs, yawning then draws in the oxygen you need!.
When your tired your breathing slows down and the oxygen to your lung is decreased, so you yawn to increase it!.
So, if someone is yawning, it may not mean they are tired, but that there isn't sufficient oxygen in that area, so you also need to yawn to get the oxygen that your lungs are lacking, don't know if this is the reason, but it sounds feasible!

I wondered that too because people would make me yawn when THEY yawned and I found out that it's actually contagious!. When we see someone else yawn or laugh, our brain (for some reason, RESEARCH IT) makes us do the same thing!. :D Cool, huh!?Www@Enter-QA@Com
