You have to consider more than the cost of the animal!. I'll break it down for you!.!.!.
In the states pet chimps cost around $50,000 and at least $10,000 for an older one!.
You have to carry the baby chimp around with you pretty much all the time or hire full time help in the form of an expert and factor in the cost of their salary!.
As it gets bigger you will need a cage about the size of one of the rooms in your house and since chimps are about 7-8 times stronger than humans factor in the cost of the damage it does to the cage when it goes insane from being kept in said cage!.
Lets not forget medical care!. Insurance won't cover them and since most conventional vets can't treat them (they're zoological animals not domestic) that means a single doctor visit can easily run you $500 and the chimp goes a couple of times a year!.
Food and medicine will be at least a couple hundred dollars per month!.
And all this throughout its life expectancy of 23-25 years!.
