Question: How many people do you actually know in your town!? Down your street!?
I've just realised I don't actually know many people in either my street or my town!. My street is quite snobby and they've never got to know us!. At one point about twelve years ago we had a street party but most of those families moved and I can't see anything like it happening again!. The families down here really aren't friendly! As for my town, it's not that big but again, don't know most of the people I pass in the street!. You!?

Absolutely none!. They are quite snobby in my street, where as we are quite a loud family!. Not me, but my parents n bros and sisters are! So we get looked down at i think, not that i care!. I don't know any!. I spoke to one lady downstairs once because her baby was sitting in the courtyard - but since then she blanks me!. It's seems that the British society doesn't like to mix with strangers or their neighbours - bar a few!. I moved to my flat over a year ago and I walk past people and smile, sometimes say hi, but if people don't want to speak you can't force them to!. I think it depends where you live!. I think family areas are more open to knowing their neighbours!. My area lives the professionals between 20 - 35, and they're all set with their friends, so they don't need to know other people!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I used to live in the suburb of a large town and like you never really knew my neighbours!. 15 years ago we moved to the country (South Scotland) and now live 1 mile from the village and 6 miles from the Market town!.
We know dozens and dozens of people in the village and just as many in the town because rural areas are like that!. Lots of the residents have lived here all their life and I suppose are nosey (not a bad thing to be) and interested in newcomers!.
The postman delivers our papers along with the mail!.
It can be annoying sometimes having everyone know your business but to be honest I wouldn't change it for town life again!.
I do miss the buzz of the city but country life is nice!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

I know most of the people in my street - they're the kind of neighbours who will do you a favour/lend you stuff when you need it!. And as for my town, I have quite a bit of family scattered around, and it's the kind of place, where you know someone, who knows someone :)Www@Enter-QA@Com
I live in Saarbrücken,in Germany and I think I know a lot of people here!.It's like everybody knows something from everybody!.It's cool but can be a little bit annoying!.Still,the people here are very open and friendly!.I like it!.But of course I have my 2 best friends!.They are the most important persons for me=)Www@Enter-QA@Com
Well I kind of live on 2 streets!.!.!. one is kind of an alley way/court thing and has 2 houses on it (I know both families, both very nice) and then we on this cliff on this other street, I don't know too many of the people living on it!.!.!. only about 2 families!.!.!. one families kids I babysit!. =P

I live in a small, rural North Wales village in which 90% of the people speak Welsh every day!. I grew up here and know nearly all the people!. There are now more English incomers who have bought 'holiday homes' here who won't even say 'hello' to you or smile as you pass them but generally everyone else will stop and chat or at least greet each other with a friendly smile!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I got a lot of family living on the estate I'm on, most mates have moved away to better places but the families still here so know them and some people that live here through them!. I think if some of the family were to move away then I would too!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
i live in a tiny village and im getting to know most people!. we are lucky, we know all our neighbours by name and always have a chat over the fence!.!.!.

i don't live on a street i live next to another house on a quiet country lane and they are really nice people!. in the town centre and on the estates i know quite a lot of people from back in my clubbing,pubbing,drug taking days!. they are way behind me now though! Www@Enter-QA@Com

In town: Way more than I want to!. Mainly because this town is much smaller than it seems and I have lived here basically since I was 10
