to me i think it should be 18, how can you say you are not mature enough to vote, buy cigarettes, or buy porn, you can't watch people have sex on tv but you are old enough to do it, not that the laws always make sense anyways but they at least should try!.
in most states it is 16, any younger than that is ridiculous in my view!.

The age of consent should be thought of in differant ways, age to have sex, I would think 18, and yet I was younger, the thing that gets me is if a male of 18 has sex with a female of 16 they may be arrested and have to register as a sex offender, this to me seems unfair!. They are not preying on children , simply having consentual sex with thier underaged partner, I have yet to see where a female of 18 was arrested for having consentual sex with a younger boyfreind of 17!.
