I will admit there is a certain hypocrisy surounding Christmas!. In that we all fish out our Christmas cards list and glean cards for all those friends and relatives we hardly, if ever, speak to throughout the year!. I doubt that will ever change!. Which is rather sad!.
Long before Christmas actually arrives we are out and about buying gifts for all family and friends near and dear!. Closer to the day, we either buy a real tree, or get the artificial one out of the attic!. I prefer a real one!. I just love the smell of it!. It is festooned with strings of fairy lights, baubles and glittering tinsel and topped with either a star or an angel!. My preference is a star!. Vast amounts of food emerge from supermarkets!. Far too much for the average household!. Alcohol is there in abundance!. None in my home!. Closer still to the Day and gifts are wrapped, tags written, reels of sticky tape used, each package bedecked with colored bow!. On Christmas Eve there are Carol Services!. I love these and have permission to officiate at these!. Who knows but it might be my last chance!. Turkeys and other fowl/meats are consigned to ovens!. Mince pies are prepared as are home made puddings and all kinds of goodies lined up in readiness for the Big Day!. Children leave out milk and cookies for Santa Claus!. And then Christmas Day dawns!. All over the planet children shriek with delight when they espy stockings and packages!. Parents in dressing gowns ooh and ahh with them as they open their gifts!.
I make my way to the church quite early to make sure all is ready for the Christmas Morning service!. I am never dry-eyed on that day!. My mind is always on the baby Jesus lying in a manger in a bed of straw!. The organist is practising her Christmas carols!. The congregation file in to the swelling strains of 'Joy To The World'!. later, there are many tears of joy listening to the children singing, 'Silent Night, Holy Night'!.
I gaze at the faces of family and friends around the dining table laden with turkeys and all manner of festive foods!. All faces joyful!. My housekeeper/cook is there too with her husband!. My Katy will be there this year!. A wedding ring on her finger!. I will have such a swell of joy in my heart I am sure it will burst!.
Christmas stupid!? No my friend!. And never will be!.

I didn't as a kid but now that I have kids of my own I do!. There is nothing better than hearing your kids get up and try to sneak to the tree before everyone else is up!. You can just feel their excitement!. And then to see their faces light up when they finally get to open their presents and stockings is great!. (I feel bad for my parents they didn't get to see me do that since I didn't like it myself) And I just can't wait for christmas this yr b/c we'll be at Disneyworld! Woohoo!Www@Enter-QA@Com
No one celebrates Chriatmas for what is was supposed to be!. I used to not like stupid christmas and love the new year instead!. Now i have a three year old, i love christmas!. I think christmas is for children!.!.!.the magic and surprise!. I can't wait this year! Www@Enter-QA@Com
