For me it was when they stopped being around as much as they use to/

I think it depends on each individuals situation!. Are we talking 'friendships' or 'intimate relationships'!? I would also think certain questions through!. Are we fighting because of money!? Time!? Marriage!?
I personally think that no matter the reason, everything should be really thought out, and discussed between each other!. Even if it ends at least one of the persons involved are mature enough to end it maturely!. Or as maturely as possible!.

When the death of his mother took him back to Europe!. It tore my heart out to not be able to be with him physically to help him in any way I could!. I held on for months over the phone!.
He drifted further and further away!. I realized he was back home and what we shared here in the U!.S!. conflicted with all he knew there!. His xenophobic friends both here and there were predictably of no help in encouraging him to move on from his grief and return to what had made him happy!. Me!.
I know I loved him because other than the pain of missing him, I wasn't hurt by this!. I still hold him dear in my heart!. I still pray for him when he crosses my mind!. He was a love of my life and I'll always wish him well!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

when i stopped trusting them, like i got insanely jealous when i saw him talking to other girls when before that wouldnt bother me, also if you start to find other guys attractive and get urges to flirt with or date them!. if he avoids you, like you said!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Luckily i have never had to go through that in my entire life, b/c i met and married my H!.S sweetheart, and we're together still today, but i would imagine that if u feel that the relationship has lost its spark, and the both of u are in different places in ur life, then it may be time to move on!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
