What irritates me is that when the reckless ones who refuse to wear helmets survive their traumatic brain injuries they end up on Medicaid so we get t support them for the rest of their lives with our tax dollars!. Yup, they have the freedom to not wear a helmet, the guvmint should stay outta their lives!. Do we have the freedom to say, too bad if you can't pay for your round the clock care for the rest of your life!?

I know I've seen my share of those who didn't believe in seatbelts and they got really banged up!. Others in the car who had theirs on were fine!.

I always have believed in safety!. I just can't imagine how people would reject seat belts and helmets or any other safety feature for that matter!. These are active methods for improving safety on the road!. What about the safety features that are already engineered into the vehicles!. They don't reject these do they!? Some people just seem to reject safety features they have control over, while never even realizing the safety features that are already engineered into the vehicles, like crash impact absorption, airbags, automatic seat belts, and many other features too numerous to mention!. Had to use one of them wheelchairs for a while, and I do not know how to drive one!. Now I even scared myself even trying to get around the store!.!.!.and these motorcycles buffs that say a helmet is way to much, or it messes up my hair!.!.!.!.or I am free, I don't need to wear a helmet!. All they have to do is go to a rehab facility and they will see the results of no helmet/seat beat!. Here in Michigan they tried to get it passed that you did not have to wear a helmet and it failed, and I am glad!. I do not like wearing seats belts!.!.!.since I have burned my back it is a nightmare to wear and you talk about hurt and pain!.!.!.but I still do it and I am glad!. To be in your shoes and watch people come in and die or suffer long term effects and see the families faces!.!.just because they all wanted to have freedom of no belts/helmet!.!.!.!.I will not be one of them!.!.!.!.and I also preach to my kids!.!.!.!.and I am proud to say they wear there's all the time!. I flipped my car back around 1987 -- it turned over several times, then came to a halt upside-down, with me strapped into my seat!. The cops said I probably would have been thrown out the window and had the car land on top of me!.

Yes!. I agree with you 100% there, Penny!. Another popular method of disagreeable confinement is an I!.V!. You could almost describe it as a ball and chain attached to your bloodstream!. And of course it has to beep every two hours, day and night!. You have to drag that horrible pole around where ever you go, and it never quite fits into a regular washroom!. Ugh!.

Yes I do know!. I worked for 5 years as a police officer and saw plenty of examples!. I also had a family member that crashed an ATV into a utility pole and wasn't wearing a helmet when it happened!. Not a pretty sight to see brain fluid seeping out of someones ears!. He survived but has never been the same :( Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yep, I know it!. Always wore a helmet when I rode a motorcycle and always wear a seatbelt when I drive!. Had to help a lady out of the ditch once and her ankle bones were sticking out the end of her leg with her foot bent up beside her leg!. Never did find out how she ended up!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I agree!. My Mom is also a nurse and she has always said she would have had a much better job if only people would wear seat belts and stop riding motorcycles!. As you can see I can't help riding my bikes, but thank God I've never been hurt on one!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
