I Know!.!. i see that often!.!.its totally wrong everyone deserves a second chance!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I am married to an ex-con who did 13 years on a drug trafficking charge!. He has been out for 9 years and was on heavy duty federal probation for 4 of those years and successfully got off paper!. He is 50 years old now but when he got nailed he was already a skilled Diesel truck/heavy equipment mechanic and he had made a name for himself before lockup!. When he was released, everybody in the industry that knew him offered him a job!. He was a hot commodity!. He now makes about $80,000!.00 per year!. It is not impossible to find a good job!. I know it sounds dishonest, but personally, when I come to that little box on the application that asks if you have ever been convicted of a felony!? Just say n/a!.!.!.not applicable!. If you mark that box yes, the personnel that looks at your app is going to toss it into the round file!. At least if you put n/a or no, you stand a better chance of at least getting the job and security background checks cost money!. Prove that you are a good worker with a pleasant attitude so they will want to keep you around!. Even if your employer finds out about your past, they may just disregard your imprisonment because you have proved yourself to be an asset to the business!. Take a chance! Or you can be brutally honest and most likely not get the job!. Good luck and don't give up!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It's only as hard as you let it be!

Why can't former felon vote!? I've never heard of that!. call your local county to find out how to vote!. You need to reform your life with the right attitude! Attitude is everything!

Here is what I would do if I were you:

Open your own business! You will have no problem getting hired OR fired!

You also have the benefits of making your own schedule, making company decisions, spending out of the company draw account, riding off business expenses, and more!

I work from home and even if I did have a criminal record it wouldn't matter!

But be careful, it's easy to not hold yourself to the standard that an employer would and thus your productivity can plummet!. I know that I would have fired myself a couple times! ha ha!.

But really, read books on how to write a business plan, find low or no-cost business to start up and believe in yourself!

It sounds like you've learned your lesson!. And I'm proud of you!. Now go out there and make a difference in the world!

Good luck!

P!.S!. Some good start up businesses you might consider would be painting parking strips or window washing!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

When there is as many people out there looking for job as there are now you can't blame employers for not settling with someone that has a criminal record!. Just keep trying to work your way up!. You can even work your way up at McDonald's!. My friend has a few serious felonies on his record and he got a job at McDonald's, he worked hi butt off and now hes the store manager making 40,00 a year!. That's not great money but its decent!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

That is what is terribly wrong with our society!. Instead of wasting money in Iraq we should have a jail to work program so that felons do not need to resort to crime to eat after they get out of jail!. How are you to get a normal life if you have a felony on your record and can not even get a job at micky D's!?

My advice would be try to get a job with someone that you know that owns a business!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

My ex boyfriend actually had the same problem, all I can say is be grateful that you are not in there anymore, he used to tell me that it was easier for him in there!. Sometimes you just have to take what you can get, but look around because there are some jobs that don't run a background check!. Wish it was easier for you!. Good luckWww@Enter-QA@Com

because alot of people dont want to give a felon a second chance!.!.!.
alot of it depends on what the crime they were convicted of doing!.!.the more severe the felony the more difficult it is to get that second chance in society!.!.!.

as far as the elections!.!.!.im not voting either!.!.!.you wont b missing anything!.!.

because if you are a grown man (or woman) and you do something stupid enough to get you "real time" then no-one trust you!.
but I don't get why you can't vote, because after you serve your time time you should get your rights back!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

your screwed, you will probably only get paid for 'under the table' type of jobs!. Im not sure what its like to have one, but if your trying to better yourself, thats a start!. Possibly get odd jobs that dont require backround checks is your best bet!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

work where i do, there are six felons who work here!.
you will have to start with an industrial job most likely!. there are usually programs you can find through your parole officer that help you find a job!. good luck!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Life is made up of choices!.!.!.!.!.some will follow you for the rest of your life!.!.!.that is just the way it goes!.!.!.for what it is worth!.!.!.!.life isn't automatically easy just because you don't have a rap sheet!.!.!.!.life is tough for us all!.!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
