Question: Is anyone REALLY feeling the problems associated with the banks failing, and the stock market have trouble too!?
It seems like every channel this morning was talking about the stock market 'plunging'!.!.!. What does this mean for the average American, like me who lives paycheck to paycheck!? I don't pay a mortgage or rent, so is it only affecting those people who do!? I'm really confused about what it's all aboutWww@Enter-QA@Com

The most immediate effect for people as you describe is that it's going to be a lot harder to get loans for anything - houses, cars, personal loans, credit cards!. That and there will be a harder job market with fewer jobs, less construction, less growth!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
The bank my one mortgage is through went bankrupt a couple months ago, I'm not worried about it!. I still make the payments but the bank has been taken over by the government!. They can't change my loan agreement so it's really no big deal!. I believe over time the stock market will improve, I was going to buy stock but right now hell no!!
I'm a small business owner I'm not doing too bad but I have had better years, not too many people can afford what they need so I may lower my prices just so people can get what they need!.

As far as my properties, no, I haven't been affected at all!.!.!.yet, if my renters lose their jobs, I'll feel that end of it!. Fortunately I don't live paycheck to paycheck, but my investments in the stock market have suffered dearly, $50,000!.00 so far and that's not including the past 2 or 3 days, but I'm letting it ride and buying more stock while it's low!. It will bounce back in time!.
Us middle class Americans will feel it, prices are going up on everything, I went to the grocery yesterday, spent over $700!.00 and the only meats I had to buy was chicken and the steaks I buy to make my dogs treats, I buy the cheaper ones for her!.!.!.she doesn't get ribeye or NY strip, much as I love her!. i pay mortgage but so far it hasn't affected us!. as far as 401k well we invest threw the company and so far it hasn't changed it, in fact we have made a profit!. since my husband works repairing belts for coal mines and similar power companies and the company he works for does that plus has a subsection of office supplies ranging from furniture to paper we haven't really seen a difference!. people will always need power and that is what our stock is in so we are doing fine, hasn't affected us one bit!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
