Anyone been to Galveston Texas lately?!
Question: Anyone been to Galveston Texas lately!?
Answers:
No!. The city of Galveston is still being cleaned up since Hurricane Ike hit Texas!. We live about 40 miles away from Galveston and if you saw any of the pictures and the views that have been shown on the news channels lately, you would know that officials have only let residents of Galveston come and go for the most part!. Now the City officials are letting in crews of people that have come to help clean up Galveston and the surrounding areas!.
It is one helluva mess down there right now!. So many people lost soooo much!. But that's what happens when you live in a city right on the water and it is 'attractrive' to hurricanes!.
Some folks will rebuild (if they have the money to do so) and some people won't because their insurance carriers won't pay out enough money for people to rebuild!.
Going to Galveston right now would be like going to New Orleans right after Hurricane Katrina hit!. Both cities were practically demolished and it wasn't/isn't feasible to rebuild!. I believe that Galveston is now letting in people who want to help clean up the city, make donations to those folks living in shelters and those that want to make donations!.
Strange that the news did not mention anything about letting high school kids in to take photos!. Galveston is still a very dangerous place to be with all of the glass that is shattered, metal that is twisted, and so many of the power lines that are still down!.
Some of us were lucky and we fared way better than people that lived in Galveston and the surrounding isles of the Gulf of Mexico!. Thanks for asking!. ?Www@Enter-QA@Com
