POLL/SURVEY: What's your favorite children's book?!

Question: POLL/SURVEY: What's your favorite children's book!?
Mine's is "The Giving Tree" ))
My ninth grade* English teacher read us this book in class, and after I heard it read, I was awed!.

It's a really really great book, and I really identified with the tree in that book!

(*Yes, that's right!. NINTH grade!. I went to one of the worst high schools in the State of Texas, and it was one of the most academically-under performing in Houston)Www@Enter-QA@Com

"The Five Chinese Brothers," which I first discovered in a grade school library when I was in second grade!. The brothers could do things like fall asleep on a bonfire, and one of them could suck all of the water out of the ocean and hold it in his mouth while the others gathered up as many fish as they could which I found to be a delightfully funny idea!. When I was working in the local schools a few years ago, I was glad to see that most of the grade school libraries still owned copies of "The Five Chinese Brothers" and that some young students were still checking those copies out!.

(For someone who went to "one of the worst high schools in the State of Texas," you write far better than most people who use this venue!. I doubt many of the people you went to high school with could write a complete sentence with proper punctuation!. It has gotten to the point where most introductory composition students in community colleges can't do either!.)Www@Enter-QA@Com

"The Ordinary Princess" by M!. M!. Kaye!. It's a great spin on the typical fairy tale!.

"Along with Wit, Charm, Health, and Courage, Princess Amy of Phantasmorania receives a special fairy christening gift: Ordinariness!. Unlike her six beautiful sisters, she has brown hair and freckles, and would rather have adventures than play the harp, embroider tapestries !. !. !. or become a Queen!. When her royal parents try to marry her off, Amy runs away and, because she's so ordinary, easily becomes the fourteenth assistant kitchen maid at a neighboring palace!. And there !. !. !. much to everyone's surprise !. !. !. she meets a prince just as ordinary (and special) as she is!"Www@Enter-QA@Com
