OK!.!.!.!.I feel like I have been there!.!.!. done that!.!.!.!.about many things!. My friends wife had ordered a belly dancer for hubby for the party!. The place was rockin!.!.!.!.!.the drinks were flowing!.!.!.!.about 50 people having a good time!. Then "she"walked in!.!.!.!.!.the show started by placing my bud in a chair!.!.!.!.!.!.and the dance began!. This was "AWESOME" and very erotic!!!! hehe, I'm a belly dancer, though I don't generally dance private parties yet, more like festivals and restaurants!.!.and I'm actually on a little break atm!. But, it is of course a very sensual art, I attend many workshops and festivals and I enjoy it very much!. There's also a lot more to it than that!. And it was, in fact, originally designed as movements to aid in childbirth (sadly I didn't discover belly til my daughter was already 16, but many of my sisters in dance swear by it)!. And it has a very strong sense of sisterhood/camaraderie amongst the women who dance!. It's getting more common!.!.I was in nyc this weekend and a gallery across the river in NJ had a party and hired a belly dancer the previous weekend!. They had the same response!. also , a big misconception among Americans is that belly is some type of bar dance or along the same lines as strippers!. Most definitely , it is not!. We've done them for Make A Wish fundraisers and had them in schools!.!.!.it's not just sensual; there is a lot more to it!. And don't even get me started with what we Americans have done with it; American Tribal System!.!.absolutely incredible!
