No -- i would not use hot sauce -- most have a vinegar or tomato component that is not very good with a sweet cookie base!.

Instead, try a little very fine black pepper!. This is the secret behind the German Christmas cookie Pfefferneuse (Pepper Nuts) They are spicy gingerbread nuggets dipped in powdered sugar!.

The pepper also distributes very easily with the dry spices, whereas a liquid heat would clump up in isolated places!.!.
