almost!. some dude missed his flight and they asked if anyone wanted to take his seat in first class because they actually had over booked the flight and had someone sitting on the jump seat!.!.!.!.they werent charging extra i just didnt raise my hand fast enough!.
i wish i had though, cause all the first class food got wheeled past me!. they had full on salads and actual BREAD with butter, not the pasta in a tin thing and a tiny roll that i got!. plus the seat was sooo much bigger than mine and considering i was flying 9 hours to germany then another 2 to finland, oh that cushy seat would have been niceWww@Enter-QA@Com

In the early 90s I was working for an accounting firm and did a lot of business travel to the east coast (from Arizona)!. The airlines were all going bankrupt like always and Northwest had a deal where if you bought a full coach ticket you got a free updgrade to first class!. Anyway, I made probably 10 round trips in first and got used to it!. Then in early '93 the promotion ended and I was in like 10c in coach, riding with the rifraff!. It was depressing!.
Best thing about first class!? That big wide seat and being able to get up and use the can without bothering your neighbor!. The food, drink, etc!. is really no big deal!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

yes, and the food is better, you have more room, they treat you better, and you have access to (sometimes) better places to wait then the gate!.
but, if I had the choice of 1 first class vacation or 2 coach I'd go for 2 coach!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yes!. After a bad car accident I was in a wheel chair and we flew to Washington D!.C!. for the 4th for fireworks!. The airline bumped me to first class because they didn't want maneuver my broken body to the back of the plane!. July 1998Www@Enter-QA@Com
