Yes, most of the waiters and waitresses are charged as if they had received a tip even if they did not!. They also have to pay taxes based on the average of the number of tables/tab for those tables that they waited on!. My son used to work at Outback!. Most of the people that wait on you only earn $3!.00 or $4!.00 bucks an hour!.
All of the tips go into a tip pool and is divided up among everyone that serves you, the waiters, the bartender, etc!.

Usually, unless the service was EXTREMELY poor!. I've had that happen, where the restaurant wasn't even busy and we still couldn't get a refill on our drinks because the stupid waitress was too lazy to come back!. And then when she picked up our empty plates, it took 20 minutes to get the dang bill!. Not to mention she wasn't very friendly, she kind of acted like we were an inconvenience to her!. I left her a penny as an insult!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Not if the service is bad-I don't believe in rewarding horrible work!. Otherwise I tip-I used to be a bartender so I know what working for tips is like but if I was rude or did a bad job-I did not expect a tip!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
