I have never grown a mustache and gave up on that idea many, many moons ago!. My ex was a beautiful woman who doesn't even like facial hair on men other than what grows naturally!. She's not my ex because of that reason though!.!.or at least I hope not after 22 years!.
My brother could grow a full beard at age 18!.!. here i am 49 and still can only grow a little scratch under my chin, but I no longer care!. it's what nature gave me so why worry about it at this point!?
