Why do they call life savers 'life savers' if they can cause diabetes? ?!

they are called lifesavers because the hole in the middle of it let's you breathe through it if it gets stuck in your throat and you choke!. See, if a normal candy got stuck in your throat then you wold die, but the hole in the lifesavers make them, life savers!.
